William Hague meets with leading business representatives at EMB Ltd
William Hague MP visited Derby to meet with local businesses to
discuss the help available to them and the issues they face in the
current economic climate.
Mr Hague is MP for Richmond (Yorks), Shadow Foreign Secretary
and Senior Member of the Shadow Cabinet.
He spent time with the management team of EMB Ltd, the
organisation that delivers the regional Business Link service in
the East Midlands under contract to emda, and was interested to
learn more about the challenges confronting businesses in the
region.
Stephen Smith, Chief Executive of EMB Ltd said he welcomed
Mr Hague and was delighted that the East Midlands had been chosen
for such a high profile visit. "William Hague's visit
underlines EMB's commitment to the region and its position as a
proven deliverer of high quality services. He took part in a
question and answer session and discussion with a number of local
businesses. This was a great opportunity for these local companies
to put their views across and to talk about the current economic
climate and its effects on business. Both EMB and the businesses Mr
Hague met valued the time he spent here."
Nick Pancisi, Director of East Midlands business, MX Display
Solutions said, "It was a good opportunity to meet with a senior
member of the Shadow Cabinet to discuss issues on what its like for
small businesses at the moment. I have regularly used the
Government funded Business Link service and found it really helpful
but there is still more that could be done to create the right
environment to encourage entrepreneurs to flourish."
